After a fire broke out in a building in an apartment complex in Georgia, 10 people were evacuated, leading one woman to jump from a window for safety. Firefighters in Sandy Springs, Georgia, responded to the report of a fire at the Rosmont Dunwoody apartments around 4:15 AM on Sunday.

Two individuals assisted a woman trapped on another floor.
Newsbuzzr reported that when the fire department first arrived at the scene, they saw heavy smoke and promptly evacuated residents of Sandy Springs Police. A woman, sitting near her window on another floor, was screaming for help as she couldn’t breathe. 2 brothers assisted their neighbor in escaping through the window.
“There was a lady sitting right by the window, and she was trying to breathe through the window. We got a blanket, and she immediately jumped up, and we caught her,” said Yogi Patel, one of the brothers, to Atlanta News First. ‘I just needed to get out of there’.
Another resident, Jose Ramirez, told the outlet that he spent the morning trying to gather his belongings that could be saved. “I just needed to get out of there,” he declared. Everything is wet and covered with water and the ceiling is collapsing.
Ramirez was thankful that he had found his cat alive after spending hours looking for it. The Red Cross is providing aid to the fire victims. Sandy Springs Fire Chief Keith Sanders told the outlet, “The buildings may be rebuildable, but lives can’t be restored”.
