Released in 2023, the poster showcased a 35-year-old woman wearing a denim shirt, revealing the edges of her buttocks and a part of her breast.

The Advertising Standards Authority also reviewed other Calvin Klein posters featuring Kendall Jenner, including one where the model appeared topless with hands on her chest. Another depicted Jenner lying face down with a pair of jeans pulled down, revealing her underwear.

Calvin Klein informed ASA that their ads did not portray FKAE straps or Jenner in an overly sexualized manner and carried a ‘progressive and enlightened message.’ The company also argued that clothing advertisements should have ‘some degree of nudity expected’ and indicated that men were also featured in the campaign, demonstrating that its purpose was not to objectify women.

Additionally, according to ASA, Calvin Klein assured that its future advertisements ‘will not depict women in an irresponsible manner’ and will be ‘appropriately targeted.’

FKAE Twigs commented on Instagram in March 2023, stating that ‘becoming the new face of Calvin Klein is an honor,’ and she believed her campaign ‘shows something that, as a woman and an artist, represents my belief that strength will never be out of fashion.’

She further said, ‘These images and visuals serve as a physical representation to remind yourself that being strong according to one’s individual ability will never go out of fashion.’ This ban comes after Calvin Klein recently unveiled a new campaign featuring ‘The Bear’ star Jeremy Allen White, depicting him removing white boxer briefs.
