The Disney Channel star took to Instagram on Sunday to start a post, thanking her followers for their birthday wishes as she celebrated her 38th birthday and shared that it was “bittersweet” since her brother, Blaize Pearman, had passed away.
Raven-Symone shared, “Honesty I can’t say I was thrilled to turn a year older because last month I lost my younger brother Blaize. He was diagnosed with colon cancer and passed away before he got to see his 38th birthday.”
She continued, “He was loved, and his memory continues to be and that emotions, physical and my family outside and inside have been on a roller coaster.”
Her brother’s birthday would have been on December 16.”I love you, Blaize,” Raven Home star concluded. “His birthday is December 16th and always will be. Friends, I love you all. My Instagram family, my house family, and my family and friends. You all have been an amazing support system and I love you all.”
Former Cheetah Girls bandmates shared their support in the comments. I’m so sorry to hear this Raven. You have always been a wonderful big sister who loved her little brother dearly and respected him!” wrote Sabrina Bryan. “Sending prayers for you and your family during this difficult time for healing and comfort in the weeks and months to come.”
Kiely Williams commented: “I’m so sorry. There are no words that can alleviate this kind of pain, but I hope you can find peace and moments of rest in the weeks and months to come. You and your family are in my prayers.”

The news of Raven-Symone’s brother’s passing comes as she’s currently enjoying success on her hit Disney Channel show, “Raven’s Home.
