Davis’s son presented a collection of images in a social media video that followed her from early childhood to her time as an M.I.T. student, where she graduated with a degree in civil engineering. With admiration, he said, “She was a great mom.” Additionally, the son posted images of Davis as a young mother alongside her professional football player eldest son, calling her a “proud mom”.
According to the M.I.T. Alumni Association profile, a mother of four, Davis began creating cooking videos with her youngest son, Tim, for TikTok. The growth in followers was slow initially until a viral video in 2021 featuring the preparation of a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich gained significant attention.
Davis had around 30 million followers across various platforms, where she often posted top cooking videos, frequently featuring playful interactions with her children. On TikTok, where she had 17.8 million followers, she showcased worldwide cuisine tastings, often preparing meals at home.
She gained popularity for her humorous approach, and the character “Little Linja” frequently scolded or provided cooking instructions in a dynamic and entertaining manner. In 2022, Davis won a Streamy Award, recognizing excellence in online video content.
In the concluding moments of the Friday video, her son referred to her as the “grandmother of the internet,” describing her as the best and expressing gratitude to her audience for the enjoyable video-making experience over the past few years.
